Temporary Power Kept 180 Buses on the Road

A cable strike cut power to the refuelling station at a Tweed bus depot late in the day. We installed a temporary generator and cabling that evening so the fleet could be fuelled for the next morning's runs.

Temporary Power Kept 180 Buses on the Road

Concrete work damaged a concealed cable supplying the mechanical repair and refuelling station at a Tweed bus depot. It happened early in the evening, with roughly 180 buses still to be fuelled before the next day's services.

CPS was called after hours. We attended the depot, checked what the refuelling equipment needed and brought in a temporary generator and cabling. Power was restored that night, giving the depot time to investigate and complete the permanent cable repair properly.

It was a fairly simple temporary-power job, but the timing made it important. One damaged cable had stopped the equipment used to prepare an entire bus fleet for the following day.

The refuelling station was back in service, the buses were ready and the morning routes went ahead as planned. Sorry kids — no day off school.
