Installation

A generator is only as reliable as the installation behind it. We deliver the whole job — civils, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning — under one contract, with one phone number to call if anything ever needs attention.

Licensed A-grade electricians

  • Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) wiring
  • Gas line & fuel tank installation
  • Commissioning & customer training
01 · Installation

Site assessment & load study

Before we quote, a technician visits the site to measure available space, noise restrictions, fuel access, and the existing switchboard. For commercial and industrial work we issue a written load study with motor-starting calculations, harmonic considerations, and an SLD (single-line diagram) for the consulting engineer to sign off.

Council, network & EPA approvals

We handle the paperwork: Form A and B network notifications, council noise/acoustic submissions where required, and EPA bunded fuel tank documentation for installations above 250 L. This is included in every fixed-price installation quote — no surprises.

Concrete pad, canopy & cable trays

We pour a steel-reinforced concrete pad sized to the generator footprint with seismic anchors. Cable trays are run in galvanised tray to the main switchboard. Where acoustic limits demand it, we install a sound-attenuated canopy or build an external acoustic enclosure.

ATS / AMF wiring & commissioning

The Automatic Transfer Switch is the brains of a standby system. We use Deep Sea Electronics or ABB ATS panels rated to the building load, wired with the correct break-before-make sequencing and tested under a live mains drop. Commissioning includes load-bank testing to verify the unit holds full rated load for 60 minutes at 0.8 PF, then a customer hand-over with a printed O&M manual and start/stop training.

FAQs

Straight answers, no fluff.

Common questions we get about installation. Don't see yours? Call us on 07 5529 0351.

From order to commissioning: 3–6 weeks for residential standby (subject to lead time on the generator itself), 6–10 weeks for commercial with ATS, and 10–16 weeks for industrial prime-power. Civils typically take 1–2 days; electrical 2–4 days.
